Save the Date! Kick Off Rally Sept. 13, 2010

7:30 Materials Fair    Program 8:00 PM
3 weeks until the Kick Off Rally for our 30th Anniversary Red Bank CROP Hunger Walk! Area recruiters from congregations of many faiths, public and private schools and community groups come to the First Baptist Church in Red Bank to pick up recruiter materials to help them in their efforts to meet our goals for this year. In honor of our 30th year of walking we plan to raise $130,000 and 8,000 pounds of food. We've been walking in the Red Bank Area since 1981 to raise funds to support our local hunger fighting partners. Our 5 mile hunger walk supports 17 local partners that benefit from all the thousands of pounds of peanut butter, beans and rice collected and 25% of all the funds raised.

Through Church World Service we support global partners in 80 countries around the world. CROP funds help children and families in the US and abroad with quick response when disasters occur, such as the recent flooding in Iowa, Pakistan, and continued assistance in Haiti after this year's earthquake. CWS provides blankets, tents, water tablets, food packages, hygiene kits, and much more bringing hope into seemingly hopeless situations. CWS has a wonderful new video Sixty Years of Help and Hope (8 min).

New this year $1. donation - walk wristbands. You can get yours at Ten Thousand Villages  or Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash in Red Bank.
