Teens Visit: The Calico Cat Cupboard and Pantry

As part of a project to learn more about the work done by our local partners to help those in need in our Monmouth County area, CROP Walk Teen Leaders, JOE TROPEANO and LYDIA SALTZBART from Freehold Township High School visited The Calico Cat Cupboard and Pantry in Middletown, which is run by The Community Outreach Group, Inc. Joe and Lydia would like to share the following information from their visit.

The Calico Cat Thrift Shoppe sells new and used items to raise money for local charities in the Red Bank and Middletown areas.  Calico Cat also has a Cupboard and Pantry, where clothing and other household items are offered to lower income families free of charge, and where food and other necessities are given to those in need.  The Emergency Assistance Fund is also located in the building; it provides assistance to families facing crises relating to homelessness and poverty.  Volunteers are always welcome, and donations to the Thrift Shoppe (with clean items like clothing, blankets, toys, baby equipment, and other household items) and the Pantry (with non-perishable food items and necessities like soap, shampoo, and toilet paper) are encouraged.  The Calico Cat is located at 96 Kings Highway in Middletown.
