Partner Visit to Meal at Noon - Long Branch

Lydia Saltzbart, teen committee member from Freehold Township High School and Janie Schildge, CROP coordinator visited Meal at Noon on a Saturday this summer.   Meal at Noon is one of our ecumenical local partner programs.   Lou Armour oversees this at the Second Ave. Baptist Church on Liberty Street in Long Branch.   Long Branch area church teams take turns every Saturday (except 1st two weeks of August) serving a delicious prepared hot meal purchased from the Monmouth-Ocean Food Bank.  A salad is added and dessert and 50-60 people go away well fed and cared for.   Set up outside the church was a clothing giveaway, and other items for clients to take home.   Meal at Noon also provides a bag lunch on Wednesdays.    Lou and his wife, Barbara, have worked for many years helping those who need a boost. Thank you to the Armours and supporting faith groups for Meal at Noon.
