Committee member, Sue Smith visited The Center in Asbury Park with hopes to learn about and share information on another CROP Walk Local Partner.
On July 20 I went to visit The Center in Asbury Park located at 806 3rd Avenue . Father Bob Kaeding, the Executive Director, gave me a tour of the impressive facilities. The Center has been in operation for over 17 years, the only organization providing services for people living with HIV and AIDS in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
The Center provides a hot lunch Monday through Friday, a food pantry for groceries, hygiene kits, and frozen prepared meals. The facility has 25 efficiency apartments for formerly homeless single people with HIV and AIDS. The Center also provides help with housing and transportation.
The Center can always use volunteers, food for the pantry, supplies for the hygiene kits, and individual prepared meals.
