Brookdale Athletes take up the "Lug A Jug Brigade"

The Brookdale Community College Softball Team knows what hard work can accomplish. Last spring they won their 3rd National NJCAA Championship. This Sunday they join Red Bank Crop Walk for our 30th Red Bank CROP Hunger Walk. Coach Bo Scannapieco and Janie Schildge our 25 yr. CROP Walk Coordinator both know that a small group of dedicated hardworking individuals can accomplish big things!
This Sunday, a group of those athletes will take up the Lug-A-Jug Brigade. They will walk the 5 mile walk each carrying a gallon of water. One gallon of water weighs 8 lbs. The purpose of the Lug A Jug Brigade is to walk in solidarity with the millions of people worldwide that have to walk miles everyday to get the basics for their survival. They walk to get water, food, fuel, to go to school and to jobs. The Brookdale athletes have also been doing a food collection to help our local food pantries. Even the water they carry will be donated to a local pantry. Look for them and cheer them on . Take a look at the Public Service Announcement video they helped us to make for this years 30th Anniversary Walk. (Video by Eric Hackler-CheckerLiar Productions)
Congratulations to the Jersey Blues and Thank You for partnering with Red Bank CROP Walk!
