Oh the Good Things You Can Do With Your Feet Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Today is Theodore Suess Geisel's birthday. I'm sure if Dr. Seuss were alive today and was able to attend our CROP Walk this year he would have been inspired to see all the good work that our "feet" can do and have continued to do over the past 30 years. Dr. Seuss's positive can do attitude is seen in so many of the quotes attributed to him. "You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose." Dr. Seuss (Oh the Places You'll Go) To all of our CROP Walkers, we thank you for choosing to walk with us to end hunger one step at a time.

Dr. Seuss also said, "I know up on the top you are seeing great sights, but down at the bottom we, too, should have rights." (Yertle the Turtle & Other Stories) Our hunger walk provides funds for programs that provide assistance to the world's poorest. On Read Across America Day today you can read about Church World Service Programs on their website in the section called CWS in Action.

A tribute to Dr. Suess
Thank you for the positive spirit portrayed in your life's work - Janis Iwanyk

Left foot, left foot
Right foot, right
Over 1,800 feet this year
What a sight!
Left foot, right foot
Feet, feet, feet
On the sidewalk and in the street,
His feet, her feet
Young feet, old feet
My feet, your feet
Feet, feet feet
By the soles of your feet
People will eat!
