Kara Romanetz Designs 2011 Tee Shirt for 31st Annual Red Bank Area CROP Hunger Walk

She's Serious.     She's Fun!
Ever since graduating from Communications High School in Wall, NJ (Class of 2010), Kara Romanetz knew she wanted to dive into the world of design.  She found her second home in the College of Communications at Boston University, with her bedroom right in the Advertising Department.  Along with the occasional vacation home in the Psychology Department, this double-major sophomore dreams of billboards and commercials.

However, Kara also has a soft spot for her Jersey, specifically the Red Bank area. After
designing the playbills for the United Methodist Church's production of And Then There Were None, Kara continued her graphic design work with the well received 2010 Red Bank CROP Walk  tee shirt.  Her design for our 2011 tee shirt gives us something special and clearly represents the open and generous hearts that the nearly 1,000 walkers brought last year when they came to walk to help hungry neighbors. Kara hopes this is the start of a long and fun relationship, and will be a main component in her portfolio and her "heart and sole."

CROP walks are a fundraising arm for the work accomplished by Church World Service here in the US in 80 countries around the world. While international programs help with the most severe problems in the world our local programs help people in our neighborhoods who are struggling and possibly displaced from their homes due to economic conditions, job loss, lack of skills or underemployment. Kara's "Heart and Sole" design gives us a special "local identity" for our Red Bank Area Hunger Walk as we reach out to help support our 17 local partners.

We thank Kara for meeting with our teen leadership committee to share ideas! Look for her new design on our website, our Facebook Page and on recruiting hand outs and flyers.
DesigNerd Graphic Design on the back of the tee shirt is Kara Romanetz.
